INFORMATION ON BLANKS: Blanks are made on an MD Reeds profiler, meaning there is no pronounced spine or channel areas. My finished reeds are clipped to 28-29mm from the 1st wire, and I base my profile dimensions on that length in combination with the scraping/filing techniques that I find give me the best and most consistent results in the front third and tip areas. The average measurements of my reed blanks (in 100ths of mm) are as follows:

.110-120 directly in front of the collar

.68-70 at 21mm from the first wire (the critical point 8mm behind the tip in my finished reeds)

.50-55 at 28mm from the first wire (1mm behind the tip on my finished reeds)
